The Most Important Decision You'll Ever Make
We would like to share some good news with you. God loves you so much that He made a way for you to go to Heaven when you die. The Bible clearly teaches us that we can know 100% for certain that we are going to Heaven someday. Going to Heaven does not require you to find the right religion, go to church, give to the poor, or live a life full of good works. Doing good things is important, but our good works cannot get us into Heaven, because it is not a lack of good works that is keeping us out of Heaven, it is our sin. Consider the following helpful truths from the Bible that teach us how we can know for sure that we will go to Heaven when we die. God loves you, and He wants you to go to Heaven someday!
The Bible tells us that all people have sinned and fallen short of God's perfect standard.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
Sin is anything we think, say, or do that goes against God's will. Because God is holy and perfect, even one sin separates us from Him.
Sin has a consequence - eternal separation from God in a place called Hell.
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
Just as an employee earns wages for work, we have earned death (eternal separation from God) through our sin. But notice the good news - God offers a gift!
Despite our sin, God loves us and made a way for us to be saved.
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
God demonstrated His incredible love by sending Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins - while we were still sinners! He didn't wait for us to clean up our lives first.
Salvation is received by faith - simply believing in Jesus Christ and trusting Him alone for your salvation.
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13
Salvation is not about religion, church membership, good works, or being a good person. It's about trusting in Jesus Christ alone - His death, burial, and resurrection - to save you.
If you understand that you are a sinner and believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again, you can receive Him right now by faith through prayer. Prayer is simply talking to God. Here's a prayer you can pray:
"Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose again. Right now, I trust Jesus Christ alone as my Savior. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus' name, Amen."
If you prayed that prayer and meant it from your heart, you are now a child of God! The Bible promises:
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
